In An Emergency, Which Guitars To Take?

The San Diego wildfire crisis is affecting the LBoP world. My main squeeze and I are on edge today waiting for the word to evacuate the house. The so-called Witch Creek fire is a few miles away threatening our little burg of Encinitas.

So...decisions, decisions: which guitars to take; which to leave behind? The car can only hold so much so some hard choices had to be made. I chose two of my solid-body electrics, my workhorse Fender Strat and Gibson Nighthawk. The MIJ Epi/Gibson 335, Taylor acoustics (810 and Baby) and all the electric basses made the cut as well. Rounding out the music gear that got packed: a few select small guitar amps and stompboxes. A lot of other instruments and gear will have to be left behind. Aarrgh!

Yes, I was terribly inconvenienced, but the alternative is worse. The goal is to live another day to make some music. That's the bottom line.

Hello, Blog #1... Is this thing on?!?

Greetings and Feliciations! Jonathan from The Lost Boys of Penzance (LBoP) here. I've maintained an LBoP blog on the MySpace page and am now doing a separate one here on blogger.com. For now, the MySpace blog will co-exist in parallel with this one. Dunno yet if the blogspot one will take over the MySpace one...or vice versa. We'll see how it goes.

The purpose of this blog is to inform fans of the goings-on in the LBoP world, which should (in theory!) make for an interesting and/or entertaining read. Rather than post a blog just to blog...I will post a blog only when there's something interesting to say. I will also try to keep postings short and sweet rather than write a novel with all kinds of minutiae. We're all busy and pressed for time...I know!

...sounds good to me! ~J. Hawk D'Ville/LBoP
